  • Overseeing the organization, fundraising, marketing and enhancing resources for career opportunities for students
  • Introduced a Welcome Social event for an informal gathering of new graduate students and their peers
  • Supervised the selection of student speakers at the Departmental Seminar by implementing a blinded voting method of submitted abstracts
  • Actively participated in developing the organization webpage, maintaining social network presence and increased visibility through a featured article in the departmental newsletter

Judge, Student Research Week 2018 – 2019

  • Carefully observed and critiqued the posters and assessed presentation skills after hearing from seven undergraduate competitors over a time of one and half hours. Completed the rubrics for grading each poster and provided feedback for the presenters to improve if any.


Vice President for Finance, Graduate and Professional student Council 2017 -2018

  • Developed a running budget for the internal Executive board for the organization
  • Appealed and presented in Student Advancement Fee Advisory Board meeting requesting permanent funding to support the graduate assistantship for the Director of the sole student-run, largest research symposium for undergraduate and graduate students, Student Research Week (SRW) at Texas A&M University
  • Oversaw and advised Awards and Programming Committee chairs
  • Involved in organizing the 2017 President Town Hall by GPSC

Graduate Recruitment/Admissions Committee, Biology, Texas A&M University 2017

  • Provided graduate student perspective in selection process and voted for candidate recruitment
  • Coordinated the graduate recruitment visitation weekend by managing their pickup and drop off at airports, their stay at the hotel, arranging group dinners, coffee and lunches
  • Assigned existing students as buddies or mentors to incoming students, helping them to acclimatize to the campus, introducing them to campus culture and traditions and helping them meet their selected faculty members for interviews
